Guilford County Division of Social Services (GCDSS) is pleased to announce the promotion of Shelia Stokes to Deputy Director of Social Services.In her new role, Stokes will oversee the implementation and coordination of GCDSS programs and services, ensuring alignment across internal operations and external partners. Guilford County Farm’s annual plant sale will kick off on Wednesday, April 1, at 9 a.m. The sale will run through Saturday, May 30, or until all plants are sold. Residents and visitors are welcome to shop every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.The plants available for purchase are grown by Guilford County Parks staff at the county’s greenhouse at the Guilford County Farm located at 7315 Howerton Rd., Gibsonville, NC.
The Guilford County Child Fatality Prevention Team announces the opening of nominations for the 24th annual "Safety Makes Cents" award, which honors exceptional contributions in the field of childhood injury prevention.One recipient will be selected to receive the 2026 award, which includes a $2,000 grant. The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a raccoon on Nathanael Greene Drive in Greensboro tested positive for the rabies virus on March 24, 2026. This is the eighth confirmed case of animal rabies in 2026.
