Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) has recently seen an increase in confirmed cases of Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) in our area. This highly contagious virus affects cats—particularly kittens—and can be life-threatening if not addressed promptly. As a result, the GCAS has quarantined multiple stray cat/kitten rooms for the next two weeks to reduce the spread of FPV.

Guilford County is launching a Low Income Homeowner Assistance Grant to support qualifying homeowners.The program's application period will first open to residents ages 65 and older, beginning Wednesday, July 15, and will then expand to all eligible residents on Sunday, Aug. 16.The program will be available to Guilford County homeowners earning up to 80% of the area median income.
