The Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt an $889,196,646 General Fund Budget for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 (FY2027) during a called special meeting, Thursday, June 25. The Board of Commissioners’ adopted budget adjusts the property tax rate to 78.95 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, an increase of 5.9 cents. 

The budget reflects our ability to address five core budget principles: 

Guilford County Manager Victor Isler presented his recommended Fiscal Year 2026-2027 (FY2027) budget to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) during their regular meeting on Thursday, May 7.

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a series of budget town hall meetings and livability forums to hear from the community about the fiscal year 2026-27 county budget and proposed strategic plan. There will be five sessions held from early to mid-April at different locations throughout the county.

Guilford County has opened applications for Community-Based Organization (CBO) funding for the 2027 fiscal year (FY27). The application can be found here: GuilfordCountyNC.gov/CBOs

On Wednesday, June 18, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt a $847.3 million General Fund budget for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

The first of three budget town halls and community resource fairs scheduled for today, Monday, March 31 has been postponed due to the threat of severe weather. The event, originally set to take place at Claxton Elementary School from 5:30 to 8 p.m., will be rescheduled. Updates on a new date will be published on guilfordcountync.gov/budget-town-halls.

The budget town hall and community resource fair scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at Jamestown Elementary School will continue as planned.

Guilford County is pleased to announce Aaron Brown as the new Budget Director.

In his role as Budget Director, Brown will work closely with the County Manager’s office to oversee the development and administration of the county’s annual budget and capital improvement plan, ensuring fiscal sustainability, operational efficiency, and alignment with the county’s strategic priorities. Additionally, he will develop revenue projections, oversee countywide grants and community-based organization funding initiatives, and manage the operations and staff of the Budget Department.

The Guilford County Purchasing Department is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide floor maintenance services for multiple Guilford County Locations as outlined below. The County invites all interested and qualified firms who meet the requirements below to submit a response to this RFP. Guilford County reserves the right to award all locations to one Provider or per location(s) to multiple Providers.
