The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a series of budget town hall meetings and livability forums to hear from the community about the fiscal year 2026-27 county budget and proposed strategic plan. There will be five sessions held from early to mid-April at different locations throughout the county.
Each session begins at 5:30 p.m. with the livability forum, followed by a county budget overview and community input from 6:15 to 8 p.m.

In line with the county’s commitment to helping empower Successful People to thrive in a Strong Community supported by Quality Government, Guilford County Manager Michael Halford presented his recommended Fiscal Year 2025-2026 (FY2026) budget to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) during their regular meeting on Thursday, May 15.
The Budget Town Hall and Community Resource Fair originally scheduled for Monday, March 31 at Claxton Elementary School has been rescheduled for Monday, April 28.
The Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted to adopt a $833.7 million budget for the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The Board of Commissioners’ adopted budget maintains the current property tax rate of 73.05₵ per $100 while funding the county’s mandated essential core services, investing in public and higher education, and supporting workforce and economic development.
