Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is temporarily pausing the intake of cats and kittens through Sunday, November 9, following confirmed positive cases of feline panleukopenia virus (FPV).Precautionary measures are being taken to help prevent the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of animals currently in care.The virus was detected in nine cats brought into the Guilford County Animal Resource Center from the Greensboro areas, including Spry Street, Darden Road, and Chadford Place.  
Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to host the Empty the Shelters adoption event from Wednesday, Oct 1. through Wednesday, Oct. 15. The national adoption event offers families an opportunity to adopt a pet at a reduced fee.During the two-week event, GCAS will offer reduced adoption fees.• Adult cats and kittens: $65• Adult dogs and puppies: $55• Senior dogs and cats, including barn cats: $10
Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is participating in the nationwide Clear the Shelter campaign, a month-long pet adoption drive aimed at finding loving homes for animals in need.From Friday, Aug. 1, to Sunday, Aug. 31, GCAS will be offering reduced adoption fees for cats and dogs from $75 to $25. 
In response to recent confirmed rabies cases in the Jamestown area, Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is suspending the intake of healthy cats. This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution and will remain in effect until further notice. GCAS will continue to accept cats that are sick, injured, or pose a danger to the public.Residents who suspect a cat may be exhibiting signs of rabies are urged to contact Guilford County Animal Control immediately at 336-641-5990.
Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is hosting a Mobile Pet Assistance Clinic (MPAC) on Thursday, July 24 from 12 to 3 p.m. at 710 Huffine Mill Road, Greensboro. The clinic will offer vital resources to local pet owners at no cost.The clinic will provide free one-year rabies vaccinations, pet food, and essential pet supplies. The MPAC event is part of GCAS’s ongoing effort to support the health and well-being of pets and their families throughout the county.
Starting Friday, June 13, through Monday, June 30, Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is reducing the adoption fees for cats and kittens from $75 to $25. Some cats at the Guilford County Animal Resource Center are still under quarantine following recent cases of panleukopenia virus (FPV) at the animal shelter. The quarantine period is scheduled to last through Thursday, June 26. While some cats remain in isolation, GCAS has many cats and kittens available for adoptions.

Guilford County Animal Services will be hosting this adoption event with Mojud Lofts and bringing our adoptable dogs with help from our Dogs Day Out volunteers. This event is open to all apartment residents and all members of the public. Dogs will be leashed at all times.
