The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a fox on West Wendover Avenue in Jamestown tested positive for the rabies virus on July 1, 2025. This is the 2nd confirmed case of animal rabies in 2025.

Guilford County Board of Commissioners announced today that it has received and accepted the retirement announcement of County Manager Michael Halford.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed a case of measles in a child who was visiting Forsyth and Guilford counties. The child became ill while traveling to NC from another country where measles outbreaks have recently been reported.
