Guilford County Environmental Services will host two public open house meetings on the county’s Solid Waste Management Plan update.

Open House Meetings:

The Guilford County Tax Department will host a Tax Reappraisal Educational Session on Monday, Feb. 16, at 6.p.m. at the NC Cooperative Extension - Guilford County Center, 3309 Burlington Rd.

The Guilford County Tax Department is postponing the Tax Reappraisal Education Session scheduled for today, Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6.p.m. at the NC Cooperative Extension - Guilford County Center.

The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a raccoon on Harvey Road in Jamestown tested positive for the rabies virus on February 5, 2026. This is the sixth confirmed case of animal rabies in 2026.

The Guilford County Division of Public Health advises residents to confirm that they and their family members are up to date on immunizations as measles cases rise nationwide. Once eliminated in the United States in 2000, measles has re-emerged due to declining vaccination rates.

The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a skunk on NC 61S in Whitsett tested positive for the rabies virus on January 30, 2026. This is the fifth confirmed case of animal rabies in 2026.

The virtual public information meeting on the Guilford County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m.

Due to ongoing inclement weather conditions, all general Guilford County offices, services, operations, and facilities will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Due to snowy and icy road conditions, all general Guilford County services, operations, and facilities will be closed Monday, Feb. 2. 

The Guilford County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Thompson as the new County Attorney for Guilford County Government, effective Monday, Feb. 2, 2026.
