The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a raccoon on Nathanael Greene Drive in Greensboro tested positive for the rabies virus on March 24, 2026. This is the eighth confirmed case of animal rabies in 2026.
The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a series of budget town hall meetings and livability forums to hear from the community about the fiscal year 2026-27 county budget and proposed strategic plan. There will be five sessions held from early to mid-April at different locations throughout the county.

Guilford County Division of Public Health Primary Care will host an open house event providing no-cost screenings for the community from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. All screenings are open to the public and will take place at the Guilford County Division of Public Health Primary Care clinic located at 501 East Green Drive in High Point.Services will include no-cost, confidential testing for HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and Hepatitis B and C. Screenings will include blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and blood sugar levels.
In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Guilford County Division of Social Services Thriving Families Support Services (TFSS), in partnership with Guilford County Schools Family Academy, welcomes families to attend the Prevent Child Abuse Wellness Resource Fair on Saturday, April 11. The resource fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Guilford County Health and Human Services building, 1203 Maple St., Greensboro, NC 27405.
