Warming Centers Available

A White Flag response has been activated in Guilford County for this weekend in response to anticipated winter weather from Friday, January 30 through Monday, February 2.

The following organizations in Greensboro and High Point will open as Warming Centers for people without shelter from Friday evening through Monday morning.

Greensboro

  • First Baptist Church, 1000 W. Friendly Ave., will provide 24-hour shelter for single adults and families from 7 p.m. on Friday, January 30, through 7 a.m. on Monday, February 2.
  • Glenwood Recreation Center, 2010 Coliseum Blvd., will open their doors for women and families from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through 7 a.m. on Monday, February 2. 

High Point

  • Open Door Ministries, 400 N. Centennial St., will continue to open a 24-hour shelter daily for men until full capacity is reached.
  • West End Ministries, 903 W. English Rd, will offer a 24-hour shelter for women from Friday, January 30 and throughout the weekend.

Please note that Guilford County does not operate these warming centers. The county is sharing this information to help keep residents informed of available resources.
