Guilford County Environmental Services and the Town of Summerfield invite all county residents to participate in its upcoming Summerfield Summer-Cycle Community Recycling Event on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Summerfield Community Center, located at 5404 Centerfield Rd, Summerfield, NC 27358.The recycling event is free and open to all Guilford County residents. Business waste will not be accepted.

Guilford County is releasing the annual progress report on the implementation of the Guilford County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (GCHMP) as it seeks community input to update the plan. The GCHMP, developed by Guilford County Emergency Management, highlights the county’s ongoing efforts to build a more resilient community and reduce the impact of both natural and man-made disasters. A Hazard Mitigation Planning Team, including county departments, local jurisdictions, and stakeholders, assisted in compiling the plan and updates on implementation.

All county residents are invited to participate in Guilford Creek Week, a collaboration between Guilford County, City of Greensboro, City of High Point, local businesses, and nonprofits from Saturday, June 21 to Saturday, June 28. Each year, this initiative provides fun and educational opportunities throughout Guilford County to raise awareness about the health of our watersheds.
