Celebrate Guilford Creek Week: June 21 through June 28

All county residents are invited to participate in Guilford Creek Week, a collaboration between Guilford County, City of Greensboro, City of High Point, local businesses, and nonprofits from Saturday, June 21 to Saturday, June 28. Each year, this initiative provides fun and educational opportunities throughout Guilford County to raise awareness about the health of our watersheds.

Guilford County Planning & Development is partnering with Guilford County Parks to host events throughout Guilford Creek Week. Each partner will host a variety of events throughout Guilford Creek Week including stream cleanups, guided hikes, arts and crafts, story times, and more.

Guilford Creek Week events include

  • Green Girls
    • Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.
    • Various sites through Guilford County including Bur-Mil Park
    • Green Girls is a free drop-off program that introduces middle school-age girls to career possibilities in science and research through hands-on activities and learning (indoor and outdoor).

  • ArtQuest Water Themed Art Display
    • Saturday, June 21 to Saturday, June 28
    • High Point Public Library, 901 N. Main St, High Point
    • Stop by the High Point Public Library to see some featured water-themed art pieces from the Greenhill Center for North Carolina Art, ArtQuest’s students.
  • Guilford County Farm Exploration
    • Saturday, June 21 from 9 to 11 a.m.
    • Guilford County Farm, 7315 Howerton Rd, Gibsonville
    • Join Guilford County and the Piedmont Bird Club for a guided nature walk at the Guilford County Farm.

  • Benbow Nature Preserve Cleanup
    • Wednesday, June 25 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
    • Benbow Nature Preserve, 2279 Britton St., Greensboro
    • Help clean up Benbow Nature Preserve and Urban Orchard for all to enjoy.

  • Into the Pond: Bug Hunts & Backyard Biodiversity
    • Friday, June 27 from 9 to 11 a.m.
    • Guilford County Farm, 7315 Howerton Rd, Gibsonville
    • Join Guilford County to explore the aquatic biodiversity found at the Guilford County Farm Pond.
