The Guilford County Planning Board is a citizen board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.  The Board works closely with the Planning and Development Department and is responsible for deciding cases for zoning map amendments, road name changes, road closings, easement closings, appeals from the Technical Review Committee and makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners.

The Planning Board regularly meets in both the Blue Room located on the 1st floor of the Old Guilford County Courthouse, 301 W. Market Street, Greensboro, and in the John H. McAdoo Conference Room, located on the 3rd floor of the BB&T Building, 201 W. Market Street, Greensboro, depending on room availability, and to accommodate special events, including early voting & Commissioners’ work sessions.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:45 PM, Business Meeting, 6:00 PM, Regular Meeting, when the Planning Board has business to consider. Please refer to the Meeting Schedule for specific dates.
