Historic Preservation Commission

The Guilford County Historic Preservation Commission’s purpose is to safeguard its heritage by preserving property therein that embodies important elements of its cultural, social, economic, political, and architectural history. The Guilford County Historic Preservation Commission also promotes the use and conservation of such property for the education, enrichment, and pleasure of the residents of the county and the state.

Its primary purpose is to help preserve and protect Guilford County’s unique architecture, rich history, and cultural heritage, and to provide historic preservation services to member jurisdictions.
