Guilford County was among 27 North Carolina jurisdictions to earn recognition in the North Carolina City & County Communicators (NC3C) 2025 Excellence in Communications Awards. Guilford County’s Food Security team and NC Cooperative Extension - Guilford County Center announce the opening of a compelling new photovoice exhibit titled "Framing the Future: A Photovoice Exploration of Food Justice." The photovoice exhibit features a collection of photographs and accompanying narratives that highlight the diverse perspectives of food access and food security throughout the county. The exhibit marks the culmination of months of work, including community-driven photo submissions gathered as part of the county’s photovoice research project.
The first of three budget town halls and community resource fairs scheduled for today, Monday, March 31 has been postponed due to the threat of severe weather. The event, originally set to take place at Claxton Elementary School from 5:30 to 8 p.m., will be rescheduled. Guilford County Farm’s annual plant sale will kick off on Thursday, April 3 at 9 a.m. The sale will run through Saturday, May 31, or until all plants are sold. Residents and visitors are welcome to shop every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.The plants available for purchase are grown by Guilford County Parks staff at the county’s greenhouse at the Guilford County Farm located at 7315 Howerton Rd., Gibsonville, NC.
Guilford County Parks will host three upcoming hiring events in preparation for a busy summer season. The Parks Department is currently looking to fill several part-time positions across multiple parks locations, including Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, Gibson Park in High Point, Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, Northeast Park in Gibsonville, and Southwest Park in Greensboro.
