The Guilford County Division of Public Health will co-host a community event in recognition of National Recovery Month on Thursday, September 18 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Foundations Health High Point located at 919 Philips Avenue, Suite 107, High Point.
This no-cost event, themed “Breaking Barriers and Building Futures: Every Person. Every Family. Every Community.,” is held in collaboration with Guilford County Solution To the Opioid Problem (GCSTOP) and Foundations Health High Point. It will celebrate the strength, resilience and progress of individuals on the path to recovery, featuring:
- Guest speakers sharing personal recovery journeys
- Community resource booths
- Local vendors
- DJ and music
- Food truck
- Opportunities for connection and support
"National Recovery Month is about recognizing the courage it takes to seek help and the hope that grows with each day of recovery," said Amanda Clark, Drug and Injury Prevention Manager, Guilford County Division of Public Health. "We celebrate every person who has taken that first step, and every person still searching for their path."
The event will raise awareness about substance use recovery, promote access to treatment and support services, reduce stigma, celebrate the hope recovery brings and build community.
