Division of Public Health Holds Eight Back-To-School Immunization Clinics for Rising Seventh and Twelfth Graders

Guilford County
Aug 29, 2025

The Guilford County Division of Public Health welcomes rising seventh and twelfth graders and parents and guardians to visit select Guilford County Schools located in both Greensboro and High Point for required back-to-school immunizations. The clinics will be held on scheduled days in September.

North Carolina law requires all incoming seventh graders to receive a Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) vaccine and a MCV (Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine) by the start of their seventh-grade year. All incoming twelfth graders are required to receive a second dose of the MCV (Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine) by the start of their twelfth-grade year.

The Guilford County Division of Public Health will host the walk-in back-to-school immunization clinics (no appointment needed) on the following dates and locations:

September 3

September 8

September 10

September 12

The Guilford County Division of Public Health urges parents and guardians to complete the immunization permission form prior to their student’s visit to a walk-in clinic. If the immunization permission form is not submitted in advance, a parent or guardian must accompany their child. Students must have their insurance or Medicaid card, along with immunization records, accessible. Parents and guardians should ensure that information for in-network providers—Medicaid, United Health Care, and Blue Cross Blue Shield—is readily available. The Guilford County Division of Public Health will collect fees for services covered by out-of-network insurance plans.

Any student also may receive the required immunizations by appointment at Guilford County Public Health clinic locations in Greensboro (1100 East Wendover Avenue) and High Point (501 East Green Drive). Appointments for immunizations are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 336-641-3245 to schedule an appointment.

Parents and guardians also may schedule appointments for the required immunizations with their child’s in-network primary care physician or at participating pharmacy clinics.
