GUILFORD COUNTY IS UNDER A STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION EFFECTIVE October 11, 2018.  Citizens are ENCOURAGED to stay off the roadways during the impact and post-impact timeframes of the storm if reasonably possible, to limit travel as to not interfere with the efforts of emergency responders and repair crews. Citizens should not enter flooded areas including flooded roadways and structures.

Fall Festival

Are you looking for a fun-filled family event to kick off the fall season? Look no further! Bur-Mil Park’s annual Fall Festival is 10 am to 3 pm Saturday, October 13th. Enjoy food, games, hayrides, face-painting, balloon animals, and buy a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Visit the more than 40 vendors and exhibitors participating this year for everything from craft demonstrations to wildlife and environmental information.

Remember to come hungry to enjoy hot dogs, sandwiches, funnel cakes, shaved ice, and much more.

At the center of the festival is music, dancing, a bounce house, and other forms of entertainment.

 

While you’re here, stop by the Frank Sharpe Jr. Wildlife Education Center to visit live exhibits.
