During the final hours of their regularly scheduled meeting today, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Victor Isler as the next Guilford County Manager.
Isler brings 17 years of experience in local government, with a demonstrated track record of fostering strong community partnerships and driving innovative public policy solutions. He has served in leadership roles across Durham County, Forsyth County, and most recently his tenure in Guilford County as Assistant County Manager.
Isler holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a concentration in social welfare from Winston-Salem State University, a master’s degree in social work from the joint program at North Carolina A&T State University and UNC Greensboro, and a master’s degree in health administration from Pfeiffer University. He is also a graduate of the Georgetown University Executive Certificate Program in Public Administration and a Civic Fellow of the UNC Chapel Hill School of Government.
As County Manager, Isler is focused on making Guilford County an even better place to live, work and play; which includes aligning with our growing economy, advancing quality education, promoting fiscal stewardship and sustainability, and strengthening the quality of life for every resident. Isler has a reputation for building strong partnerships and promoting change and is committed to working with various sectors within the community, region, and state.

Speaking on his appointment, Isler shared:

The Board welcomes Isler into this role and looks forward to continued progress and innovation under his leadership.”
Isler’s appointment was voted to take effect immediately with a starting pay of $315,000.
