In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Guilford County is hosting two community mental health resource fairs aimed at promoting mental wellness, connecting individuals with support services, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and substance misuse.
In partnership with the High Point Police Department, Mental Health Associates of the Triad, NAMI Guilford, and RHA Health Services, Guilford County will host a Turn Awareness into Action: Mental Health Resource Fair on Saturday, May 17, at First Presbyterian Church in High Point from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held at the church’s parking lot located on 918 N. Main St. in High Point.
A second Turn Awareness into Action: Mental Health Resource Fair will be held on Friday, May 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Guilford County Behavioral Health Center in Greensboro. The event will be held at the parking lot located at 931 Third St. in Greensboro. Now in its fourth consecutive year, this annual community event continues the county’s commitment to improving community access to mental health resources and support.
Both events will offer attendees the opportunity to connect with local mental health service providers and organizations, while enjoying family-friendly activities including music, games, and food trucks.
To further support residents beyond the events, Guilford County has relaunched its Mental Health Resources webpage, guilfordcountync.gov/mental-health, featuring updated information on mental and behavioral health services offered by Guilford County and other organizations. Additionally, the county will distribute newly updated Mental Health Resources Pocket Guides to health professionals and attendees at both events.
