The Guilford County Department of Public Health will offer required immunizations for all school-aged children at the Carl Chavis Memorial Branch YMCA Family Fair on September 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2757 Granville Street, High Point.The event will provide families with convenient access to school-required vaccinations in a welcoming community setting.

The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR), Norfolk Southern, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are preparing to replace rail lines in Guilford County next month as part of the Carolinian and Piedmont Passenger and Freight Improvements (CAPPFI) initiative. The upcoming rail replacement phase will affect several rail crossings primarily in eastern and central Guilford County with temporary, days-long closures. Crews are expected to begin work in the county in late September to early October.
Guilford County Parks and Recreation invites volunteers to join "The Big Pick," the annual grape harvesting event at the Guilford County Farm, located at 7315 Howerton Rd. in Gibsonville. This year’s event will take place on two Saturdays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, offering an opportunity for all ages to volunteer. After the grapes are picked, they are donated to local food banks, shelters, and community kitchens.

The free event will also feature a Medication Take-Back station hosted by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) and a Food Drive hosted by A Simple Gesture.
Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is participating in the nationwide Clear the Shelter adoption campaign now through Monday, Aug. 31.Through the end of August, GCAS is reducing adoption fees for all cats and dogs to $10. All adopted pets will be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
