On November 12, 2025, the federal government passed a bill that funds the federal government through January 30, 2026, ending the shutdown. The County continues to work with the state and our local community partners to understand and respond to the impacts as normal operations resume.

The average number of Guilford County households receiving Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits each month is 44,100, totaling $ 15.8 million. Approximately 13,670 residents receive WIC benefits, averaging just over $1 million per month.
