All county residents are invited to participate in Guilford Creek Week, a collaboration between Guilford County, City of Greensboro, City of High Point, Town of Kernersville, Stormwater SMART local businesses, and nonprofits from Saturday, May 30, through Saturday, June 6. 

Guilford County Parks and Recreation Aquatic Centers at Bur-Mil Park, Hagan-Stone Park, and Northeast Park will open on Memorial Day weekend. Pools will open weekends only from Saturday, May 23 through Sunday, June 7.

Memorial Day Weekend Schedule:
• Saturday, May 23: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday, May 24: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Monday, May 25: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guilford County Farm’s annual plant sale will kick off on Wednesday, April 1, at 9 a.m. The sale will run through Saturday, May 30, or until all plants are sold. Residents and visitors are welcome to shop every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

The plants available for purchase are grown by Guilford County Parks staff at the county’s greenhouse at the Guilford County Farm located at 7315 Howerton Rd., Gibsonville, NC.

Guilford County Parks will host two upcoming hiring events ahead of a busy summer season. The Parks Department is currently looking to fill several part-time positions across multiple park locations, including Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, Gibson Park in High Point, Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, Northeast Park in Gibsonville, and Southwest Park in Greensboro.

Guilford County Parks invites everyone to the 21st annual Bur-Mil Park Fall Fest. The free community event promises a day of fun and excitement for the whole family on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5834 Bur-Mill Club Rd. in Greensboro, NC. 

Guilford County Parks invites volunteers to join "The Big Pick," the annual grape harvesting event at the Guilford County Farm, located at 7315 Howerton Rd., Gibsonville. This year’s event will take place on two Saturdays, Sept. 27, and Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, offering an opportunity for volunteers of all ages to come together and support local food banks and shelters.

Last year, more than 200 volunteers came out to help, harvesting over 2,500 pounds of muscadine grapes.  

Guilford County Parks is seeking a variety of vendors to participate in the Bur-Mil Fall Fest, Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free festival will take place outdoors at Bur-Mil Park, 5834 Bur-Mil Club Rd., in Greensboro.
