Tax Bill Scam Alert

Guilford County residents are reporting calls and letters from scammers asking taxpayers to pay their tax bills early due to Senate Bill 889. Some of the letters reference residents' assessed property values and request payment to an address in Florida. 

Let us be clear: 

• If you have any doubt about a letter or call you have received regarding your Guilford County tax bill, please call the collections line at (336) 641-3363.
• The Guilford County Tax Department has not yet sent tax bills to residents. Bills will be sent out in August.
• Following the tax bill, the Tax Department will only follow up with calls or letters if a resident's tax bill becomes delinquent. 
  If you receive a call regarding a delinquent tax bill that seems suspicious, call the collections line at (336) 641-3363.
