Celebrate National Cleanup Day with Guilford County Planning & Development and Guilford County Parks & Recreation and help clean up Benbow Nature Preserve and Urban Orchard for all to enjoy! We will gather as a group to remove litter and learn why cleaning up litter is vital for the health of our waterways. There will be fun prizes, plus community service hours are available upon request.
What to Bring/Wear:
- Waterproof boots (such as rain/rubber boots or muck boots) if possible, otherwise close-toed shoes
- Long pants
- Hat
- Reusable water bottle
- Insect Repellant (Optional, but recommended)
- Sunscreen (Optional, but recommended)
- Sunglasses (Optional)
- Work gloves (Bring your own if you have them)
- If you want to help clean up the creek at Benbow Preserve, you are required to wear:
- Waders or tall, waterproof boots (for standing in the creek)
- Pants (to protect from mosquitoes and poison ivy)
