Youth Focus Act Together Crisis Care Temporary Shelter Care Act Together will provide temporary emergency shelter for at-risk youth ages 11 to 17 in need of a safe shelter because they have run away or been kicked out of their home, or it is unsafe to reside at home. Through the use of evidence-based practices such as Positive Youth Development, Positive Action, Person Centered Planning, Trauma-informed care and Trauma Focused CBT principles as appropriate, the program works to boost protective factors for runaway and homeless youth. Unifour One Changing Faces Mentoring Mentoring Changing Faces Mentoring Program supports youth ages 10 to 18, extending to older participants under Juvenile Court jurisdiction per Raise the Age legislation, including Interstate Compact on Juveniles. Each youth is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, support, and encouragement to foster character development. Unifour One Changing Faces Vocational Skills Vocational Skills The Changing Vocational Program is transforming the futures of at-risk or juvenile justice involved youth by breaking down the barriers to employment and self-sufficiency. Serving adolescents ages 13 to 18-and older if still under juvenile court jurisdiction-our program provides a structured pathway out of delinquency and instability. Commander Peace Academy Commander Peace Academy Interpersonal Skill-Building Boxing Program Interpersonal Skill Building The Commander Peace Academy (CPA) Interpersonal Skill-Building Boxing Program is designed to engage at-risk youth in developing interpersonal, discipline, and life skills. The program aims to address behavioral challenges that may lead to gang involvement, violence, family conflicts, and school disciplinary issues. Community Service-Restitution Program Restitution/Community Service Community Service/Restitution provides opportunities for youth ages 10-18 to work at human service non-profit agencies to fulfill court-ordered non-paid community service or victim restitution sanctions. Life Connections of the Carolinas, Inc. DASH Strengthening Families Parent/Family Skill Building DASH Strengthening Families is an evidence-based family skills training curriculum designed to bolster resilience and mitigate risk factors associated with behavioral, emotional, academic, and social challenges within families. The program targets youth aged 7 to 17, or older individuals still under juvenile court jurisdiction. One Step Further, Inc. Guilford County Teen Court Program Teen Court Teen Court serves youth offenders ages 11-18 (i.e. first offender or formerly adjudicated delinquent/undisciplined) whose behavior constitutes Class I-III misdemeanor violations. Sentenced by a peer jury, youth are given required sanctions to complete such as life skills classes, community service work, and jury duties. Guilford Teen Traffic Diversion Pilot Program Interpersonal Skill Building The Guilford Teen Traffic Diversion Pilot Program (TTD) provides the opportunity for 16- 18-year olds charged with traffic offenses to be diverted from adult court while addressing potential causes for the offense and increasing public safety. Junior-Senior Life Skills Program Interpersonal Skill Building Junior/Senior/Advanced Life Skills (JSA-LS) is a 20-hour course utilizing Botvin evidence-based curriculum to address four youth groups: Elementary (Ages 9-10); Juniors (Ages 11-13); Seniors (Ages 14-15); and, Advanced (Ages 16-18). Class topics are structured for each age group. Following program completion, youth receive case management services for 9 months to monitor recidivism, school/home behavior, school attendance/grades, and reported detentions/suspensions. McCormick Cares Incorporated McCormick Cares Clinical Assessments Assessments McCormick Cares will contract with NC Health Partners to provide Comprehensive Clinical Assessments for at-risk youth in Guilford County with severe behavioral challenges and mental health diagnoses. Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center Nehemiah's Apprenticeship Training Vocational Skills Juveniles ages 14 to 17 can enroll in our program to explore different STEM career paths-robotics, engineering, coding, cybersecurity, drones, etc. During summer months, participants will earn while they learn and receive weekly stipends based on work ethic, teamwork and punctuality starting at $10/hr. Operation Xcel Operation Homework Tutoring/Academic Enhancement Operation Homework emphasizes math, reading, and science enrichment, homework completion, test preparation, and social skill building. Through partnerships with parents, students, and school personnel, we establish a success plan for each student. At-risk, undisciplined, and delinquent male and female youth, ages 6 to 15 are served. Alexander Youth Network Psychological Testing Assessments This program provides psychological assessments to court referred youth and other youth in trouble with the law through delinquent or undisciplined behavior. Referrals for youth are made by court counselors who need clarification for diagnosing, need help with placement recommendation, or need more information about how emotional/ behavioral problems may be contributing to the current level of functioning of the youth. Barium Springs Home For Children Treatment Alternatives for Sexualized Kids (TASK) Comprehensive Evaluations of Sexual Harm (CESH) Assessments A Comprehensive Evaluation of Sexual Harm (CESH) is an evaluation process designed specifically for juveniles ages 6 and up who have caused sexual harm or have exhibited problematic sexual behavior. The goal of the CESH is to develop an individualized profile of the youth and youth’s family, providing insight into historical and present functioning, while also assessing their ability to engage in recommended services. Barium Springs Home For Children Treatment Alternatives for Sexualized Kids (TASK) TASK Treatment Services Addressing Problem Sexual Behavior TASK serves ages 6-22 years old and emphasizes the development of skills related to self-regulation, communication, healthy sexuality, family conflict, academic engagement, peer relations and risk management. The treatment model is designed to meet the complex needs of youth who have caused sexual harm and/or have problematic sexual behaviors.
