In recognition of World Homeless Day, community partners across the county will be dressed in orange, we encourage you to do the same.
On October 9th, 2026, events will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at two locations:
- Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 W. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro
- Open Door Ministries, 400 N. Centennial St., High Point
Observed annually on October 10, World Homeless Day raises awareness of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and highlights local efforts to connect individuals and families with resources and support.
This year’s events will focus on the theme, “Inform, Illustrate, Educate, Advocate & Donate,” bringing together service providers, community members and people with lived experience of homelessness to share information, resources and stories.
At both locations, residents will be invited to decorate T-shirts with local facts, messages and stories about homelessness. The completed shirts will be displayed on clotheslines at Greensboro Urban Ministry and Open Door Ministries throughout the weekend, creating a visual representation of coordinated efforts in the community.
