Empty the Shelters Adoption Event - September 18-30, 2026

Bissell Pet Foundation - Until every pet has a home.

Guilford County Animal Services will be participating in Empty the Shelters with Bissell Pet Foundation from Friday, September 18th through Wednesday, September 30th, at 980 Guilford College Road, Greensboro, NC 27409.

During this time, adoption prices will be as follows:

Dogs: $55
Cats: $65
Senior dog and cats: Free

Adopt a Pet

View adoptable pets at the Guilford County Animal Shelter. We are now OPEN for adoptions noon to 4 p.m., every day except Tuesdays.

Volunteer

Volunteers are a vital part of Guilford County Animal Services and assist the shelter in many different ways.

Foster an Animal

Guilford County Animal Services needs foster families willing to provide temporary living arrangements for animals in our foster program.

Surrender a Pet

We are open by appointment only for owner surrenders to ensure we have space. You do not need an appointment to reclaim a lost pet, if you found a stray pet, or to drop off donations.

Animal Control

Animal Control is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays. For services on Sunday, after hours, and holidays, call Metro 911 non-emergency number 336-373-2222. If it is an emergency, please call 911.
