The Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health is alerting Guilford County residents that a cat on Woodmont Drive in Jamestown tested positive for the rabies virus on July 17, 2025. This is the 3rd confirmed case of animal rabies in 2025.

Guilford County held the third annual stakeholder input session on the use of the county’s opioid settlement funds on June 30. Immunizations are not only a critical part of school readiness—they are essential to protecting each child and the community from preventable diseases like measles, mumps and whooping cough.

The Guilford County Division of Public Health will offer the MMR vaccine to residents of all ages at the Hayes-Taylor Memorial YMCA mobile clinic in Greensboro on Wednesday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The MMR vaccine is a safe and effective way to protect individuals, especially children, from three potentially serious diseases: measles, mumps and rubella.
