The Guilford County Family Justice Center (FJC) has named High Point Police Department Detective Paul Mustian, of the Special Victims Unit, the recipient of the 2026 Sergeant Dale Nix Partner of the Year Award. Detective Mustian was selected by the FJC’s VOICES Committee, a group of survivor advocacy partners, in recognition of his commitment to supporting survivors and strengthening collaboration among partner agencies.

Guilford County is pleased to announce the selection of Sonya Desai as the new Director of the Guilford County Family Justice Center (FJC).
As Director, Desai will oversee the Family Justice Center’s daily operations and guide implementation of its strategic plan, ensuring victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and elder abuse have access to comprehensive, coordinated safety, legal, social and health services provided by county and nonprofit, and government partners.
Beginning Thursday, Jan. 22, the Guilford County Family Justice Center (FJC) Courthouse Pop-Up, located inside the Guilford County Courthouse in Greensboro, will close. The temporary site will be closed Thursday, Jan. 22, and Friday, Jan. 23, as FJC staff prepare to relocate services back to the Katie S. Cashion Center, 201 S. Greene St., Greensboro. FJC staff anticipate resuming client service at its Greene St. office on Monday, Jan. 26.

Guilford County has appointed Sonya Desai as the Interim Director for the Guilford County Family Justice Center (FJC) effective Saturday, Sept. 6.
Desai began her journey with the county as a front-line navigator in June 2015 when the FJC opened its first site in Greensboro. She transitioned to a coordinator in 2016 and was promoted to the FJC Greensboro site manager in 2018.
