The Information Technology (IT) Department is the facilitator for the implementation of efficient business systems through continuous improvement in the use of technology, and introduction of new solutions through collaboration with department staff.

The Regional Juvenile Detention Center is dedicated to serving the area’s juvenile justice needs by providing safe and secure custody to juveniles between the ages of eight and eighteen who are awaiting court action or transfers to other facilities.
Guilford County’s park system encompasses a wide range of facilities and recreational amenities. We currently provide event centers, athletic fields, sand volleyball courts, RV and tent campgrounds, dog parks, playgrounds, aquatic centers, lakes and marinas, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, par-3 golf courses with a driving range, and spacious picnic shelters.
The Risk Management department serves as a resource for the health, safety and well-being of Guilford County employees, residents, and visitors.
Guilford County provides transportation and mobility services through Guilford County Transportation and Mobility Services (TAMS). TAMS primarily serves Guilford County residents who do not have access to Greensboro Transit Agency (GTA) or High Point Transit services. Residents can access TAMS for medical appointments, employment, education, senior services, nutrition sites, and adult day care.
The office is accredited through the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers, North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs, and The American Legion. For your convenience, we have two office locations to assist you with navigating through the VA’s benefit system.
The County Attorney and staff provide prompt, efficient and effective legal advice and representation to the Board of Commissioners, County Manager, county departments, and related agencies.
The Guilford County Security Department is comprised of a director, dispatchers, armed, unarmed officers, administration staff, and a contracted security force.
Guilford County is governed by a nine-member Board of Commissioners; elected by district and at-large to serve four-year terms. Commissioners’ terms are staggered and general elections are held in November of even-numbered years. In December of each year, the Board elects a Chairman and Vice Chairman to serve for the upcoming year.
