Completed EC’s are available for review by property owners upon request and are easy to locate in the county Floodplain Management webpage under the Historical Elevation Certificate.

If no EC is found, the home owner must contact a licensed surveyor to prepare an elevation certificate. The surveyor must determine the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) based on the current Flood Insurance Rate Map and Flood Insurance Study and survey the elevation of the land and/or structure. Staff then recommends that the person provide a copy of the EC to the county for its files and for verification of its accuracy and completeness.
