The Plan Review Section reviews construction plans for all commercial and residential buildings and structures to ensure consistency with the NC State Building Codes. This section coordinates with Emergency Services and Environmental Health on fire and health aspects of the codes.
Electronic Plan Review Services
Electronic Plan Review can save time and resources. For a successful E-Plan submittal, follow the requirements per the Guilford County Commercial Electronic Plan Review Submittal Bulletin.
E-Plan Review services are available for Design Professionals and contractors to submit documents for Construction Plan Review. You may submit the following:
Commercial documents in a pdf format via email to PlansReview@guilfordcountync.gov
Residential doc in a pdf format via email to ResidentialPlansReview@guilfordcountync.gov
At this time no residential construction plans, only Residential Engineered documents are to be submitted for Electronic Plan Review.
New 2018 NC Building Codes will become effective as follows:
July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018 - There will be a six-month overlap time between adoption and mandatory effective date.
January 1, 2019 - The 2018 NC Code will become mandatory.
