GUILFORD COUNTY IS UNDER A STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION EFFECTIVE October 11, 2018.  Citizens are ENCOURAGED to stay off the roadways during the impact and post-impact timeframes of the storm if reasonably possible, to limit travel as to not interfere with the efforts of emergency responders and repair crews. Citizens should not enter flooded areas including flooded roadways and structures.

The 2018 Business & Industry Safety and Environmental Conference presented by the Guilford County LEPC and Triad ASSE is scheduled for Wednesday, October 10th at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Special Events Center. The agenda contains useful and educational material for members of the safety and environmental industries, as well as first responders.  Conference registration is free and lunch is provided.  Please join us this year to learn about topics relevant to your work, visit with our vendors, and network with other members of the safety and environmental industries.  The closing session of the conference will be a safety talk contest with attendee participation.  Be sure to indicate if you are interested in giving a brief, five-minute safety talk when you register.

Conference Registration


In conjunction with the annual BISE conference, The Guilford County LEPC will conduct two HAZWOPER refresher courses on Tuesday, October 9th & Wednesday, October 10th, at the Greensboro Coliseum. This course will offer classroom instruction and hands-on training including practical scenarios. The LEPC & ASSE are pleased to announce that this year’s hands-on evolutions will be provided by the North Carolina State University Industry Expansion Solutions (IES) Office! Mac McNulty, an Improvement Specialist from NC State University’s IES will facilitate the exercises. Registration is $99.00 per person. If registering multiple attendees, please be sure to fill out the required information for each registration.
