GCEMS is committed to being an active force in Guilford County when it comes to promoting injury prevention programs and health and safety awareness.  We have educational programs that are directed toward specific age groups.  We offer grade level, curriculum based, educational programs for K-3, 4-5 and middle school students. Informational sessions on career opportunities with EMS are available at the high school level as part of a planned Career Day or as requested by a teacher to supplement to their curriculum.

Child Passenger Safety

Safe Guilford is a local coalition that brings together health and safety experts, businesses, government departments, community-based organizations and volunteers to address accidental injury and deaths. Founded in 2001 at Moses Cone Hospital in Trauma Services, Safe Guilford works in the areas of child passenger safety, bike safety, pedestrian safety and falls prevention. Safe Guilford also leads Safe Kids Guilford County.

Senior Citizens Health

Senior citizens of our community can benefit from our fall prevention class called Matter of Balance.  This evidence based program is designed to help older adults reduce their fear of falling thereby enhancing activity levels through physical exercise.  Health related topics such as recognizing signs and symptoms of stroke and heart attacks, weather related, and diabetic emergencies are a few of the programs available to our senior population.

Patient Information Sheet

This is a printable Emergency Medical Information sheet for your personal use.  Please print a copy for each family member, complete and post in an obvious location.  In the event that EMS is dispatched to your home and there is no one able to provide emergency information, EMS will have some basic medical information that may be beneficial to our assessment and treatment of your medical emergency.  Other than at home display you can make copies to carry in your wallet, purse or car.  If you have any questions about the use of this form please call (336) 641-7565.
