Notice of Intent to Sell and Invitation for Upset Bids
The Guilford County Board of Commissioners has received an upset bid and offer to purchase the following property for the new sum of $2,021,300.00:
A 0.71 acre tract of land with building located at 232 N Edgeworth Street in Greensboro N.C. Property is designated as Guilford County Tax Parcel No. 001806.
This property is being offered for sale under the negotiated offer, advertisement, and upset bid procedures prescribed in North Carolina General Statute 160A-269. Guilford County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Any person wishing to upset the offer must submit a written sealed bid to the Guilford County Clerk to Board at 301 W. Market Street, Greensboro NC 27401 by 5:00PM on January 24, 2020. At that time bids will be opened, and the highest qualifying such bid will become the new offer. If there is more than one bid in the highest amount, the first such bid received will become the new offer.
If a qualifying upset bid is received, the new offer will be advertised and the process continued until a ten (10) day period has passed without receipt of a qualifying upset bid.
To qualify as an upset bid, the offer must be at least $2,122,415.00 and must be accompanied by a bid deposit equal to 5% of the increased bid (deposits must be in the form of cashier’s check or money order). All qualifying bids must meet the terms and conditions set forth in the initial offer located at www.guilfordcountync.gov , including but not limited to lease of the property back from the Buyer Closing for a maximum term up to 18 months, for a rental payment of $ 0.00 per month and one additional 6 (six) month option to extend month to month at market lease rates. In additional to rental payment, Seller/Tenant shall be responsible for all taxes, insurance, utilities and maintenance expense of the Property during the term of the Lease.
