Official Press Release - Inmate Death
Sheriff Danny H. Rogers with the Guilford County Sheriff Office reports that on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at approximately 6:50 PM, Ms. Catrice Ingram, who was confined at the Guilford County Sheriff’s High Point Detention Center, collapsed while being assessed in the Medical Department at the Detention Center.
Guilford County Detention Officers and the Wellpath Medical Staff immediately began CPR and summoned EMS. Ms. Ingram was transported by ambulance to Wake Forest Baptist Health High Point Medical Center where she passed away at approximately 8:07 PM in the hospital’s emergency room.
Ms. Ingram was in the custody of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office under a $5,000.00 bond since October 29, 2019 on a Habitual Larceny charge.
The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has notified Ms. Ingram’s family. An investigation into her death will be conducted, but at this time the death appears to be the result of pre-existing medical conditions.
