Statement Concerning GCSO Vehicle Pursuits on 04/18/2019

Early morning on 04/18/2019 the Greensboro Police Department had two very serious crimes occur in their jurisdiction. The first crime was an armed robbery of a Papa John’s delivery driver in the area of Tucson Dr. and Pheonix Dr. The second crime was a Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon on two Greensboro Police Officers in the area of E. Washington St. and S. Davie St.
At 12:24 am, Lt. J. W. Mecham, observed a vehicle and its occupants which matched the description of the suspect vehicle turn onto Freeman Mill Rd. from Coliseum Blvd. and followed to further investigate, the vehicle immediately accelerated. The Lieutenant caught up to the vehicle and a pursuit ensued, eventually travelling on I-85 Bus. into High Point. The pursuit continued in High Point until a PIT maneuver and a forced vehicle maneuver were executed by MCpl. D. K. Becton on University Pkwy. The driver was then taken into custody.
At 12:44 am, Deputy C. J. Weber observed a vehicle commit a traffic offense near U. S. Hwy. 29 and Benaja Rd. The vehicle matched the description of the vehicle used in the armed robbery in Greensboro. A pursuit ensued and continued into Reidsville. Deputy O. Delarosa assisted in the pursuit. Two PIT maneuvers were executed, which resulted in the disabling of the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody.
In both cases, the Greensboro Police Department made charges from the cases which occurred in the city of Greensboro. The driver of the vehicle involved in the armed robbery was Nina Bounthaeng. The driver of the vehicle involved in the AWDW of the Greensboro Police Officers was Jadarius D. Dockery.
