Post Date:03/14/2019 11:46 AM

Guilford County Public Health is proud to announce that Iulia Vann, MD, MPH is our new Assistant Health Director.  Dr. Vann joined our staff on March, 3 2019 and replaced Mr. Kenneth Carter, who retired February 28, 2019 after 42 years of service with Guilford County Public Health.

Prior to accepting the position in Guilford County, Dr. Vann held a similar position with the Orange County (NC) Department of Public Health. In Orange County, Dr. Vann’s scientific expertise was instrumental in energizing the institution’s extensive partnerships with the UNC School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, and School of Public Health.  Her considerable experience and leadership will serve Guilford well, as she will be instrumental in preparing Guilford Public Health for the next generation of Medicaid Managed Care.  Her clinical and case-management proficiencies will be key to optimizing the health status of public health patients and the Guilford community in general.

Iulia Vann obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania, and her Master’s in Public Health Analysis and Management from East Carolina University.

Dr. Vann is the author of several scientific journal articles, including the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, where she published research on long-term health status of select heart disease patients.

Please join Guilford County Public Health in welcoming our new Assistant Health Director, Dr. Iulia Vann.
