Sheriff Danny Rogers reports that at approximately 3:21 a.m. on Saturday January 5, 2019, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Interstate 85 near Groometown Road in reference to a shooting into an occupied vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted Guilford EMS with rendering aid to, Terrazi Smith (Black Male, 26 years of age) and Rickey Meaders-House (Black Male, 24 years of age), who both suffered gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. Mr. Meaders-House’s injuries were non-life threatening, however Mr. Smith was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Guilford County Sheriff’s Office detectives conducting this homicide investigation are working with surrounding law enforcement agencies and community members to help solve this crime.

In addition, Sheriff Danny Rogers will be conducting a press conference with other Law Enforcement Agencies and community leaders on Monday January 7, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. to discuss the issue of gun violence in Guilford County. The press conference will take place outside the Green Drive entrance of the High Point Courthouse locate 505 E. Green Drive.
