4848Non-Emergency Medical TransportationTAMS provides transportation to doctors’ offices, hospitals, dialysis centers, clinics, dentists and other health-related visits medical appoints for persons in need. Guilford County residents who have a Medicaid pink or blue card and who have no other means of transportation receive free transportation to medical appointment. Transportation services may include bus tickets, gas vouchers, taxis or vans. Medicaid recipients must complete a transportation assessment form before service can begin. This is usually handled over the phone. Other county residents living outside the city limits or without access to public transit can also receive medical transportation. Non-Medicaid passengers must also complete an eligibility form. Persons 60 years old or older will be mailed and form. For all other the form can be downloaded below. Persons over 60 years of age may receive service for free; all others pay a $2.50 one-way fare.

Three times a day, Monday through Friday, TAMS makes runs to medical facilities over in Winston-Salem. We work in cooperation with PART Connections and can assist anyone with medical trips to facilities in Chapel Hill and Durham. Trips to the pharmacy can be schedule as part of your medical trip. Medical transportation is provided Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with limited service on Saturday for dialysis patients.
Senior Services TransportationTransportation for seniors is provided throughout Guilford County for senior programs, meals and adult day care. TAMS provides relief to caregivers by offering transportation to persons attending adult day care programs. We understand how difficult managing a job and household while caring for a loved one can be. We make every effort to meet the caregiver’s needs for pickup and drop-off times while balancing the daily programs provided by centers. Transportation is provided between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must complete an eligibility form and be approved before receiving these services. Call 641-3000 to find out if you are eligible. There is no fare; however, donations are welcome.
Continuing Ed Bus TransportationTAMS provides a solution for persons who want to continue their education beyond high school. If you do not have access to public transit and live outside the city limits of Greensboro or High Point, our service is there for you.
24/7 Employment Transportation ServicesTransportation is available to work sites, work-related activities, job training and job fairs. Assistance may include bus tickets, gas vouchers, car repairs and taxi or van services. Job access transportation is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are a former Work First recipient or participating in a workforce development program services may be free of charge.
Employment transportation is provided to Any Guilford County resident if either your origin or destination is located outside the city limits of Greensboro or High Point or if your work schedule is outside the operational hours of GTA or Hi tran. There is a one-way fare of $2.50 for each passenger. Children of a working parent or legal guardian can be transported to child care as part of the employment trip.
Persons over 60 years of age or persons that have a physical or mental disability can receive employment transportation also. You may receive a ride on the system or fuel reimbursement for you or someone that drives you. There is a one-way fare of $2.50 if you ride the system. Persons over 60 years of age ride for free of charge. Funding for this service does not allow for transportation of children to child care.
